The ICT, Aerospace & Electronics Company comprises two divisions: the Aerospace & Electronic Systems Division and the ICT & Media Division, and is developing its business in a broad array of areas, from aircraft and industrial machinery to IT services, Internet business, media, and mobile devices.
We also operate several industry-leading businesses, such as ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation, which sells and maintains computers and network systems and undertakes customized software development, and ITC Networks Corporation, a wholesaler and retailer of mobile telephones.
Recently, we have also resolutely sought to pioneer new technologies and new businesses in lithium-ion and other rechargeable batteries, and in green IT solutions. We also been strengthening our core businesses and striving to develop earnings for upfront investments.

Strategy

With the failure of major financial institutions in the United States in the fall of 2008, the market environment in which the ICT, Aerospace & Electronics Company operates has become much more severe, but the Company aims to grow its earnings by pursuing fundamental objectives, including the steady strengthening of our core businesses, focusing on IT services and mobile devices, initiatives in new business areas, and an acceleration of overseas development. To steadily strengthen our core businesses, we continue to focus on bolstering the earnings platforms of our core operating companies, ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation and ITC Networks Corporation, and our second-tier companies, while divesting businesses with low efficiency or reconstructing their business models. In new business initiatives, the Company will maximize synergies created through the April 2009 reorganization that integrated the Industrial Machinery & System Department with the Aerospace & Electronics Systems Division, the IT & Business Solutions Division, and the Media Business Division to open up fresh business areas in new environmental technologies, outsourcing platforms, and broadcasting platforms. Overseas, we will accelerate the development in North American and Asia centered on IT solutions businesses and aircraft-related businesses.
With these initiatives, our aim for the future is to be a leader in every market in which we operate.
