Strategy
In financial services, our priority strategies are to strengthen relationships with major overseas partners and expand businesses in China and Asia, markets that promise significant growth. Accordingly, we plan to advance collaborative efforts in financial services and a broad range of other areas with the CITIC Group, with which we have formed a comprehensive strategic alliance. As the first stage of this initiative, we have taken a stake in the CITIC Group’s financial business firm CITIC International Assets Management Limited (CIAM).
In insurance services, we pursue stable earnings by strengthening insurance agency businesses in Japan and reinsurance businesses overseas. Overseas, we intend to focus on reinsurance brokering business for large projects in the machinery, natural resources, and energy businesses and in rapidly growing Asia countries by the use of one of the largest insurance broker networks among Japanese companies.
In logistics services, the Headquarters business organization will provide third-party logistics (3PL) services to the ITOCHU Group and accelerate the development of overseas businesses through close cooperation with ITOCHU LOGISTICS CORP., a subsidiary of the Logistics Services Department. In Chinese market, we will grow earnings primarily by providing high-value-added solutions through ITOCHU LOGISTICS (CHINA) CO., LTD., and TINGTONG (CAYMAN ISLANDS) HOLDING CORP. Moreover, plans call for building logistics networks that cater to domestic demand in other emerging countries in Asia
