Plant Project & Marine Division
Plant Project & Marine Division comprises the Marine Department, the Plant & Project Department No. 1, and the Plant & Project Department No. 2. In the Marine area, we deal in transactions involving new, second hand, and chartered vessels, as well as owning our own fleet of ships. In Plant Project area, we find and develop new projects for gas and petrochemical plants, electric power plants, transportation infrastructure, and fields related to environment, and we are investing widely in projects such as EPC, project financing and Independent Water Power Producers (IWPP). We are also committed to eco-friendly projects, operating environmental and renewable energy-related businesses such as water resources, geothermal and wind power, and EfW.
Automobile & Construction Machinery Division
Automobile & Construction Machinery Division comprises five departments: Automobile Department No. 1 (mainly responsible for Asia, Europe, and Russia), Automobile Department No. 2 (mainly responsible for North, Central and South America, Africa, the Middle East) which controls trade and trade related projects; Automobile Business Promotion Department which develops the retail business, financial business, distribution business, and parts business in Japan and worldwide; Isuzu Business Department which works with Isuzu Motors Limited on initiatives around the world; and Construction Machinery Department which is involved in trade and business development of small and large-scale machinery. Approximately 30% of the Department staff are working overseas with a broad but closely knit network that is characteristic of the Department.
Aerospace & Electronic Systems Division
With a history spanning half a century in the aerospace business, we are developing businesses in defense, space, commercial aircraft, electronics and security. Managed globally by a network that includes facilities in Japan, the United States, and Europe, the Aerospace & Electronic Systems Division is aiming to provide solutions that respond swiftly and accurately to market needs in the aerospace sector. In the area of Industrial Machinery & Systems, we have expanded into the domains of general industrial machinery for foodstuffs and textiles, and in addition to sales of electronic components, devices, LCDs, and component materials, we have moved into lithium ion batteries and their manufacturing equipment as well as sales of associated materials. This is an area where large growth in demand is anticipated.
Information & Communication Technology Division
By tapping networks developed over many years, this Division is expanding its business in the IT services field, centered on the IT systems business. It is also moving into human resources services, Internet-related business, the environment and green tech business using ICT, and the venture capital business. In the communications and mobile field, centered on the sales of mobile phone handsets and mobile phone-related services, the Division is engaged in a broad range of services, including broadcasting and communications, as well as video and entertainment.
Healthcare Business Department
In the medical and health area, that will likely expand as the society aging, this department is promoting the creation of new business and markets and their monetization. Starting with the manufacturing of medical equipment and then into downstream areas such as services to hospitals, the department is actively involved in M&A and establishing new business, both domestically and overseas, and across a broad field.
