Mineral Resources Division

Iron Ore & Steelmaking Resources Department

This department participates in projects to develop and produce iron ore, especially in Australia and Brazil; trades in iron ore (both import and sale through third country trading) and other raw materials for steelmaking with a focus on Japan, China, and other Asian countries; and operates other businesses. The department contributes greatly to securing earnings for the Group.

Coal & Nuclear Fuel Department

This department participates in projects to develop and produce coal with a focus on Australia, Colombia, and Indonesia, and engages in trading coal globally. The department also deals in uranium trading in the upstream nuclear fuel-cycle field, handling a world-class volume of trade.

Non-Ferrous Metal & Recycle Department

This department engages in the development and trade of non-ferrous metal materials with a focus on aluminum, the trade of various other metal products, recycling, and other businesses.

Directly Overseen Organization

Steel Business Coordination Department

This department is a contact point to Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc., and pursues synergy and provides a wide-ranging support for Marubeni-Itochu Steel Inc. in the field of steel products.
