Metals & Minerals Division

The Division mainly handles iron ore, non-ferrous metals like aluminium and steel products, and on a worldwide scale deploys resource development projects, imports, trilateral trade, as well as sales and distribution in Japan. The Division also engages with steel scrap business as part of recycling-related businesses.

Iron Ore & Steelmaking Resources Department

Working on iron ore project development, iron ore trading, imports and sales with the focus on Australia and Brazil, the Department contributes greatly to securing earnings for the Group.

Non-Ferrous & Metal Materials Department

The Department develops the non-ferrous metals business, transactions in finished goods, and the scrap business with a focus on aluminum.

New Energy & Coal Division

Coal Department

Working on coal project development, trilateral trade, imports and sales of coal all over the world. On a par with iron ore, the Department contributes greatly to securing earnings for the Group.

Nuclear & Low Carbon Fuel Departmen

Engages with the Environment & New Energy-related businesses, such as uranium for power generation, biomass, greenhouse gas emission credits etc.

Solar Business Department

Engages in trading of polysilicon, ingots/wafers, cell modules, and components related to PV industry. Also operates PV system integratorsas well as PV power generation and solar thermal power generation (CSP) projects.

Energy Division

Working on crude oil, petroleum products, LPG, natural gas, LNG, bioethanol and other energies, the Division develops consistency in the business from resource development in the upstream to distribution, trading and sales.

International Energy Trading Department 1

Develops trade in crude oil and petroleum products and related investment projects, and, together with overseas enterprises and group companies, makes up one of the leading petroleum trade groups in the world. Also involved in developing and trading bioethanol and biodiesel.

International Energy Trading Department 2

Responsible for overseas trading of LPG, importing it into Japan, and providing overall management of related businesses. Forms a group focused on ITOCHU ENEX in the field of petroleum products in Japan.

Exploration & Production Department

Participates in planning oil field and gas field development projects and focuses on retaining interests. Takes advantage of management coordination functionality for exploration, interest evaluation and projects. Controls and retains interests in projects in Azerbaijan, the North Sea, the Sakhalin I project etc.

Natural Gas Business Department

Involved in LNG production projects, terminal projects and marketing etc. Participates in the planning of the Ras Laffan LNG project in Qatar and the Oman LNG project. Also takes part in planning projects for developing DME as a new energy.
