ITOCHU Receives Top Prize in Firm of Integrity Award for 2015

February 19, 2015

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) today announced that it has received the top prize in the Firm of Integrity Award 2015. The award recognizes honest companies where winners are selected by a council administered by Integrex Inc. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Hitoshi Nishimori, Chairman & CEO; hereinafter “Integrex”), a company that provides survey and investment advisory services for socially responsible investment (SRI) and support for companies aiming to fulfill their corporate social responsibility (CSR).

The Integrity Award has been run since 2002. Winners were selected by a council made up of experts based on surveys conducted by Integrex in the latter half of 2014, with outstanding efforts in the areas of corporate social responsibility, corporate ethics, compliance and internal control forming the basis for evaluation.

ITOCHU was selected as the winner in recognition of its efforts to substantiate its corporate message of “I am One with Infinite Missions,” based on the company’s Sampo Yoshi spirit (being good for the seller, buyer and society), whereby each of its employees seeks to contribute to solving social issues with the use of funds and technology, as well as for its proactive information disclosure efforts such as annual reports.

ITOCHU Corporation was also bestowed the title of Key Firm of Integrity in the same awards in 2013. ITOCHU is determined to continue placing great importance on corporate social responsibility in corporate management as a company with integrity, so that it may make further contributions to the realization of sustainable society moving forward.
