ITOCHU Announces ITOCHU Children’s Dreams Fund, Support Project for Disaster-Affected Areas, Holds the ITOCHU Children’s Dreams Snowboarding Class

January 12, 2017

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it is organizing the ITOCHU Children’s Dreams Snowboarding Class through the ITOCHU Children’s Dreams Fund, which was established in March 2013 as part of the company’s assistance program to support the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.

Continuing from last year, this year marks the second year that ITOCHU is holding this event as part of the ITOCHU Children’s Dreams Fund that supports the dreams of children from areas affected by the disaster. The class is intended to assist children in the Tohoku region who aspire to be professional snowboarders. Instructed mainly by former Japanese national team members who have been internationally active, it will provide opportunities for children to receive coaching directly from top snowboarders. There will also be a presentation session in which children can show off what they learned in the class. As a complimentary prize, the children will receive products from the AIRWALK brand, the official supplier for the Japan Snowboard Team and a brand handled by ITOCHU.

ITOCHU will continue to provide support for the reconstruction of the area affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake through the Children’s Dreams Fund and other activities based on the development of future generations specified in its Basic Activity Guidelines on Social Contributions.
