ITOCHU Corporation Forms Business Alliance with Skype
Skype™ Credit Prepaid Coupons to be Sold at Convenience Stores
FamilyMart stores nationwide to begin handling prepaid coupons as a first step–

October 20, 2008

ITOCHU Corporation (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Eizo Kobayashi, hereinafter "ITOCHU") and Skype Communications S.a.r.l. (Head Office: Luxemburg, hereinafter "Skype Communications"), a subsidiary of Skype Technologies S.A. (Head Office: Luxemburg, CEO: Josh Silverman, hereinafter "Skype"), provider of the free internet communication software Skype*1, have formed a business alliance in Japan. Through this alliance, sales of Skype Credit prepaid coupons for use with the charge functions*2 of Skype will commence at convenience stores in Japan.

Until now, the sale of Skype Credit in Japan has been limited to online sales using credit cards. Through this latest business alliance, ITOCHU will act as sole distributor in Japan for Skype Credit to the retail sector and, beginning with convenience stores, enable the cash purchase of Skype Credit at brick-and-mortar stores. These moves will create an environment in which both general users and corporate users based in Japan will be able to more readily purchase Skype Credit. Furthermore, Skype expects that this alliance with ITOCHU and Skype Communications will not only boost its sales of Skype Credit, but will also enhance recognition and increase use of Skype charge functions, contributing significantly to growth in the number of Skype users in Japan.

As a first step in the sale of Skype Credit at brick-and-mortar stores, Famiport multimedia kiosks installed at approximately 7,300 FamilyMart stores nationwide and operated by FamilyMart Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Toshima-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Junji Ueda) began handling purchases of Skype Credit (coupons) from Monday, October 20.

To create an environment in which Skype users in Japan can purchase Skype Credit in a more convenient and accessible manner, ITOCHU and Skype plan to further expand sales channels in the future.
