ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it has concluded a strategic collaboration agreement with Neusoft Corporation (headquartered in Liaoning Province, China; Liu Jiren, Chairman & CEO; hereinafter “Neusoft”). Collaboration in several areas will be sought, with the aim of establishing joint businesses in IT and other areas in Japan and China.

ITOCHU has developed telecommunication-related businesses, drawing on its domestic and global networks as a general trading company and ties among Group companies. It has engaged in wide range of IT businesses, from domestic sales of IT equipment and services originating mainly in North America and other areas of the world to human resources management and smart community businesses, as well as green technologies and other environment-related businesses.

Neusoft is a leading IT solutions and services provider in China and is listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. It was established in 1991 at Northeastern University located in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. The company excels at developing industry solutions and product engineering solutions for telecommunications, utilities, healthcare, automotive electronics, mobile solutions, and many other sectors, and has continued to grow rapidly. It presently has six software bases, eight regional headquarters, and other facilities in more than 40 major cities of China. On the global marketplace, Neusoft has also incorporated subsidiaries in the United States, Japan, Europe and Middle East.

Pursuant to the agreement that has been concluded, ITOCHU and Neusoft are commencing studies to establish joint businesses in the following areas, utilizing the strengths of both companies:

• IT services & BPO, including clouding computing, data center, etc.
• Energy management services
• Human resources development and educational services

The IT market in Asia has grown to a scale of about 13 trillion yen, mainly in China and India, and even further growth is expected. ITOCHU will continue to promote business development in the areas of telecommunications in Asia, by offering cutting-edge technologies and services originating in North America and Japan, as well as by forming strategic partnerships with local corporations.
