ITOCHU Announces Development of Logistics Facility in Neyagawa City, Osaka Prefecture

January 31, 2024

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Keita Ishii, President & COO; hereinafter "ITOCHU") announced today that it has acquired land for the development of a logistics facility in Sanrahigashimachi, Neyagawa City, Osaka Prefecture in collaboration with ITOCHU Property Development, Ltd. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Norio Matsu, President). Moving forward, the logistics facility will be developed under the tentative name i Missions Park Neyagawa.

The planned site for the facility is approximately 1 km from the Daini Keihan Road’s Neyagawa Minami IC and it also has good access to downtown Osaka and Kyoto via a main national route (National Route No. 1). Therefore, the site is a rare location suitable for both wide-area and local distribution to central Osaka and Kyoto.

We are moving forward with the development of the project and the recruitment of tenants, with construction of the general-purpose logistics facility beginning in the second half of 2024 and completion scheduled in the first half of 2026. The specifications of the facility will be excellent, with an effective ceiling height of 5.5 meters, a floor load capacity of 1.5 tons per square meter, etc., making it possible to store a variety of goods and to carry out tasks efficiently in the facility. As other specifications and the specific design have yet to be determined, it can also be developed as a build-to-suit logistics facility (BTS type) exclusively for one specific company. ITOCHU has an established track record, having developed 36 logistics facilities with a total area of approximately 460,000 tsubo in Japan and it has strengths in engineering for the various needs of logistics warehouse users.

ITOCHU included contributing to the SDGs and strengthening SDG initiatives in its medium-term management plan. It aims to contribute to the development of a sustainable society by building optimal, safe and secure logistics infrastructure through this project.
