Machinery Company
The Machinery Company comprises two divisions: the Plant Project & Marine Division and the Automobile & Construction Machinery Division, handling an extensive range of products, from large-scale chemical and power plants, bridges, roads, railways, and other social infrastructure to ships, automobiles and construction machinery.
Our operations are not limited to Japan. We trade and invest in businesses on a global scale, based on the deployment of approximately one third of our personnel to overseas bases.
Also, we are creating new earning platforms based on trading devices related to water resources and environment as well as developing businesses related to renewable and alternative energy.
Business Fields
Plant Project- Gas and petrochemical plants, Power plants, Businesses related to water resources and the environment, projects related to transportation infrastructure (bridges, roads, and railways)
Marine- Dealing and chartering all types of new ships, second hand ships, charters, marine equipment, and operating portal sites for the shipping industry
Automobile- Wide-ranging business expansion in trade and projects related to the automobile industry
Isuzu Business- Expanding sales and business of Isuzu Motors in domestic and international markets
Construction Machinery- Expanding sales of large to small size construction machinery in domestic and international markets, and engaged in overseas projects
Strategy
Machinery Company is active in a wide range of fields, from large-scale plants to ships, automobiles and construction machinery, and is building a business with an overseas focus. Primary objective of Machinery Company is to strengthen its financial structure and to expand earning platforms for existing businesses in every field, and it also has a strategy of focusing new loans and investment on growth economies while supporting its existing operating companies.
In Plant Project field, in addition to EPC(Engineering Procurement Construction) for all types of plant facilities by heavy industry, heavy electric machinery and engineering companies in Japan and abroad, we are also expanding the operational territory to project financing, investment on the assets of plants, M&A, operational maintenance and after-sales service subsequent to plant construction, and businesses where the key words are state-of-the-art technologies, environmental preservation, and alternative energies.
In Marine field, not only broker deals involving new and second hand ships, but also respond to a range of needs, including ship financing, ownership and charter transactions. We are committed to expanding the shipping business together with the leading shipping companies in Japan and overseas.
In Automobile field, we seek a finely balanced expansion of the business both upstream and downstream, including distribution, retail, finance-related areas and parts, while developing an array of peripheral businesses around the trade that is our core business, and consistently offering broad-based added value to customers.
In Isuzu Business field, we are contributing to the global economic prosperity by promoting sales of Isuzu Motors Limited products featuring advanced environmental technology.
In Construction Machinery field, we are contributing to infrastructure improvement and resource development around the world, mainly through trade with developing countries and emerging economies.

Main Project

IPP Fox Power Plant in North America- In 2008, from GE, we acquired a 50% stake in Fox Energy Center (593 MW combined-cycle power plant that commenced operations in June 2005), which is located in Kaukauna, Wisconsin in the United States.
