ITOCHU appointed Mr. Uryu as an Outside Audit & Supervisory Board Member because it expects him to monitor and audit ITOCHU's management from an independent perspective, drawing on his advanced legal expertise and extensive practical experience as an attorney-at-law. Mr. Uryu satisfies the independence standards prescribed by the Tokyo Stock Exchange and ITOCHU's own Independence Criteria.
