ITOCHU Announces Rebuilding of Tokyo Headquarters

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Yoshihisa Suzuki, President & COO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that as of April 2019 it will establish an internal New Headquarters Project CommitteeNew Head Office Building Development Committee to begin specific planning and discussions towards the rebuilding of its Tokyo head office building (including the adjacent Itochu Garden).
ITOCHU will also engage in discussions with local government authorities and other relevant parties with a view to completing the rebuilding of its Tokyo head office building by FY2026; aiming to achieve building specifications that will enable the company to respond effectively to current and future needs, such as those for smart business management and workstyle reform.
At the current stage, discussions with regard to the timing of the rebuilding work and the temporary location to which head office operations will be relocated during the rebuilding period are still underway, and no specific decisions have yet been made.
