November 29, 2021

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Keita Ishii, President & COO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it won Gold Award at WICI Japan Integrated Report Award 2021 for the second consecutive year.

The World Intellectual Capital/Assets Initiative (WICI) was founded in 2007 and consists of business companies, financial analysts and investors from private-sector, in addition to public offices and researchers from academia. The awarding organization is WICI Japan, the Japanese branch of WICI established in 2008. This prestigious award program was established in 2013 as the WICI Japan Award for Excellence in Integrated Reporting as a part of measures promoting integrated reporting in Japan. WICI Japan became a general incorporated association on October 1, 2020, and renamed the award the WICI Japan Integrated Report Award. This year marks the nineth time the awards have been granted.

ITOCHU’s Annual Report 2021 was praised for its near perfect integrated reporting that could be a model for other companies’ integrated reports. Also, it was highly acclaimed as “a company whose management is carried out with the integrated thinking, and whose medium- to long-term value creation capabilities are shown in an easy-to-understand manner in relation to each stakeholder, with the expectation that it will continue to increase its corporate value.”

ITOCHU will continue to improve its annual reports and provide its investors and other stakeholders with useful financial and non-financial information.
