ITOCHU Announces Conclusion of Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement with Fukushima Prefecture

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Keita Ishii, President & COO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it has concluded a comprehensive collaboration agreement with Fukushima Prefecture (Prefectural capital: Fukushima City; Governor: Masao Uchibori).
Fukushima Prefecture has set out the “Fukushima Renewable Energy Promotion Vision” and “Fukushima New Energy Society Concept” as major pillars that support the recovery from the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011 and is moving forward with a range of initiatives such as the spread and expansion of renewable energy and hydrogen, as well as the development and clustering of related industries.
ITOCHU is in the process of actively promoting renewable energy and hydrogen businesses in both Japan and overseas, and has decided to conclude a comprehensive collaboration agreement with the aim of further collaboration and development with Fukushima Prefecture, starting with collaboration in hydrogen mobility with Fukushima Prefecture. The main collaboration matters have been decided as follows. Going forward, the two companies will move forward with joint initiatives to realize specific projects.

4. Matters related to the development of children and young people
5. Matters related to dispelling rumors, preventing weathering and offering information on regional appeal
