ITOCHU Corporation (hereinafter “ITOCHU”), Yahoo Japan Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Inoue, President and CEO, hereinafter “Yahoo! JAPAN”), FamilyMart Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Junji Ueda, President and CEO; hereinafter “FamilyMart”) and famima.com Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Toshima-ku, Tokyo; Yasuhiko Uramoto, President and CEO; hereinafter “famima.com”) will launch an economical courier service “Haco BOON”(https://www.takuhai.jp/hacoboon/init) on Wednesday March 3, 2010 . The new service, that enables shipping of Yahoo! Auctions items 24 hours a day, starts at approximately 7,600 FamilyMart stores nationwide.

“Haco BOON” is a convenient courier service designed for the seller in Yahoo! Auctions (http://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/), one of the biggest Internet auction sites in Japan operated by Yahoo! JAPAN, to deliver the auction item to the buyer. After processing shipments of the item to the buyer on the Internet, the seller will operate Famiport, a multimedia terminal placed within a FamilyMart store, to output the automatically addressed delivery request form. The item accepted at the cash register will be delivered to the buyer by YAMATO TRANSPORT CO., LTD.

The unique aspect of the service is weight-based (Note 1) charge setups for goods that are larger but light in weight (such as clothing), established to meet strong demand in Yahoo! Auctions for lower delivery costs compared to common courier services. There are four options for paying for shipping; credit-card transactions on the Internet, Internet-bank transactions, transactions using Yahoo! Points and cash transactions over the counter at FamilyMart stores.

The four companies, ITOCHU, Yahoo! JAPAN, FamilyMart and famima.com, will continue to work towards greater customer satisfaction, using our respective customer bases and unique business strengths.
