-Earth Day MOTTANAI Workshops etc to Be Held-

ITOCHU Corporation will participate in Earth Day Tokyo 2010, as it did last year. Earth Day will be held in Yoyogi Park on Saturday April 17, 2010 and Sunday April 18, 2010 and is the largest citizen-initiated environmental event in Japan. ITOCHU is participating in this event as part of the MOTTAINAI Campaign, to express its support for the intentions of this event.
1.The MOTTAINAI booth at Earth Day Tokyo 2010
1) Earth Day MOTTAINAI workshops
MOTTAINAI workshops were extremely popular at Earth Day Tokyo 2009. This year as well, a variety of workshops based on the concept of MOTTAINAI will be held to demonstrate easy recycling with familiar objects.

2) A request for MOTTAINAI manifesto
We seek participants in the MOTTAINAI manifesto which we can pursue in everyday life. A MOTTAINAI Original ECO Bag will be given away to everyone who participates in the MOTTAINAI manifesto. It will help each individual to understand that they can start with things around us.

3) Taking responses to the ‘Is this MOTTAINAI?’ survey
Let’s vote Yes or No on the MOTTAINAI which everyone has found! Your vote will be counted in the ‘Is this MOTTAINAI?’ survey on the MOTTAINAI official website, where the final result will be reported. A MOTTAINAI Original ECO Bag will be given to those who cooperate with the survey.

4) Selling MOTTAINAI brand products
Products with which you can achieve a “MOTTAINAI Lifestyle” will be sold. Part of the proceeds of the products will be donated to the Green Belt Movement, founded by Wangari Maathai.
2.The 3rd move of the “MOT from MOTTAINAI” project starts at Earth Day Tokyo 2010!
Earth Day “MOT Market Premium” to be held in collaboration with BAYCREW’S
This will be the 3rd move of the “MOT from MOTTAINAI” project. Based on the concept “Recycling clothes help trees grow” this year, the “MOT Market Premium” at the BAYCREW’s Booth will be held to mark the start.
3. Selling “Earth Day Tokyo 2010” official merchandise doggy bags
A doggy bag is a container used to carry leftover food. This foldable doggy bag is easy to carry with you. It is also washable for repeated use. Earth Day Tokyo 2010 will sell a doggy bag as its official merchandise at a special price, as it did last year. These will cause people to take away leftover food and reflect on the volume of wasted food in Japan, the largest in the world. (The design shown in the photo below is subject to change.)
