ITOCHU Announces Completion of Construction of Processed Cheese Manufacturing Plant in Indonesia

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today the completion of construction of the processed cheese manufacturing plant for PT MEGMILK SNOW BRAND INDONESIA, which was jointly established in May 2012 with Megmilk Snow Brand Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Yoshiharu Nakano, President and Representative director, hereinafter “Snow Brand”) and PT RODAMAS (headquartered in Indonesia; President Director: David S., Handojo, hereinafter “RODAMAS”).
Outline of the Joint Venture Plant
The plant is located within the Jababeka Industrial Estate situated forty kilometers east of Jakarta, offering excellent access to a major consumption region. This marks the first time a processed cheese plant has been established in Indonesia as a Japanese company. Snow Brand will dispatch technicians to introduce the sophisticated manufacturing and quality control expertise it has developed with the aim of delivering “tasty cheese” to consumers.
