ITOCHU to Strengthen and Expand Business Jet Project

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that its subsidiary, JAPAN AEROSPACE CORPORATION (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Hitoshi Tanimura, President & CEO; hereinafter “JAC”), has executed a Representative Agreement for business jets for domestic commercial Market with the leading Brazilian aircraft manufacturer, Embraer Executive Jets (headquartered in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil; hereinafter “Embraer Jets”).

Embraer is presently the world’s third biggest manufacturer of commercial Jets. Since its creation in 1969, the Brazil-based company has delivered more than 8,000 aircraft.
Embraer Executive Jets was launched by Embraer in 2005. Since then, it has developed a full line of business aircraft, ranging from the entry-level Phenom 100E to the ultra-large Lineage 1000E. Embraer Executive Jets’ global fleet exceeds 1,000 aircraft, which are in operation in more than 60 countries.
JAC is a pioneering trading company specializing in aerospace, with over sixty years of history, experience and know-how since its foundation. It offers unique specialized services as a trading company specializing in aerospace by utilizing the network and resources of the ITOCHU Group. JAC is the sole “top niche” company.
With the mission of contributing to the security, comfort and economic efficiency of Japanese aerospace through the provision of unique professional services to our valued customers, JAC proposes business solutions to promptly and appropriately meet the ever-diversifying market needs. With the execution of the Representative Agreement described above, JAC will begin selling Embraer business jets to Japanese individuals, private companies and air service providers other than airlines.
In the aircraft-related field, ITOCHU commands operating companies including JAPAN AEROSPACE CORPORATION, ITOCHU AVIATION CO., LTD. and, in the U.S., ITOCHU Aviation, Inc. and JAC USA, INC., and undertakes marketing activities and operations related to contract performance. In the commercial airline business, in addition to the aircraft interior/maintenance business of JAMCO Corporation, one of its operating companies, ITOCHU engages in the aircraft leasing business. We will promptly gain an understanding of market needs in a wide range of fields and propose appropriate business solutions.
