ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it has signed an agreement to secure the exclusive import/distribution rights for the Hungarian brand ÁERON in the Japanese market. The release of the brand will occur in the 2017 spring/summer season through CORONET CORPORATION (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Shigeaki Chiba, President; hereinafter “Coronet”).

ÁERON is a fashion brand that was established in 2011 by the female designer Ms. Eszter Aron, who was born in Budapest, Hungary. Ms. Aron comes from an old family that ran a tailoring business. Starting in her childhood, her mother took her to see numerous exhibitions in Europe, including textile exhibitions, fashion shows and art fairs, to enable her to develop creative and artistic sensitivity. She went on to study fashion design as her main subject at art school, as well as studying business administration at business school. She worked for an esteemed brand in Budapest as a designer for 10 years, and then finally launched her own brand, ÁERON.

The three elements of outstanding quality, revolutionary craftsmanship, and elegance with a relaxed feel are harmonized in the designs of ÁERON, offering a unique balance. Only the highest quality materials are used, including French leather. Collections created with traditional craftsmanship have become synonymous with ÁERON.

In the Japanese market, the brand will target fashion-forward women in their 20s to 40s, and it will mainly sell items in department stores, specialty stores and boutiques throughout Japan, utilizing Coronet’s experience and expertise. The brand aims to achieve combined retail sales of 1 billion yen in three years’ time by showcasing the vision of the ÁERON brand, as well as by increasing brand awareness.
