ITOCHU Announces Running of New Television Commercials to Promote Its Corporate Message “I am One with Infinite Missions”
April 4, 2017
ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) will run new television commercials starting today, April 4, with the aim of disseminating the “I am One with Infinite Missions” corporate message it formulated in June 2014 both inside and outside the company.
ITOCHU tapped film director Miwa Nishikawa for the commercial, features the new song Oretachi-wa-mata-tabi-ni-deta (“we went back out on a journey”) by musician Takehara Pistol while introducing ITOCHU’s business and working style through scenes of actual ITOCHU employees.
Unifying the images of ITOCHU employees depicted by Nishikawa and the touching music of Takehara Pistol as one, the commercial was designed with the sentiment of encouraging all working people.
From March 2014, ITOCHU began a series of newspaper advertisements to increase the penetration of the “I am One with Infinite Missions” corporate message it formulated in June 2014, and began running a series of television commercials from October of that year. From April 2015, Hirokazu Koreeda was brought on as general director. He produced documentary-style commercials following three first-year employees from before their hiring, as well as commercials depicting the contributions of senior employees and in-house events as themes.
For 2017, ITOCHU has changed direction to embrace a new sense of scale and convey the uniqueness of ITOCHU to the world.
