ITOCHU Announces Strategic Investment in Truck Fleet Management and Logistics Platformer KeepTruckin, Inc.

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Tokyo, Japan; Yoshihisa Suzuki, President & COO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it has made a capital investment in and entered into strategic business alliance with KeepTruckin, Inc. (headquartered in San Francisco, California, U.S.A.; Shoaib Makani, Chief Executive Officer; hereinafter “KT”). We are going to establish new business model in logistics field by providing solution to realize maximum up-time with our business expertise and KT’s information.

KT is the leading fleet management platform to provide solution vehicle trucking control KT has expanded the business by realizing effective and easy labor and operation management. As a result, currently, 1,200,000 drivers, 250,000 trucks and 55,000 for-hire carriers are in the network of KT. We have decided to strategically collaborate for the aim of network expansion and increase of its value through maximum up-time.

As part of its mid-term management plan, “Brand New Deal 2020”, ITOCHU aims to reinvent its businesses by investing in next-generation technologies and new business models and along with this plan. ITOCHU has been actively investing with market-in oriented perspective in the global mobility market, including investments in DST, a commercial EV rental and maintenance services provider; and Via, a global ride-hailing provider especially in USA and Japan etc,. Through this strategic partnership with KT, ITOCHU pursues to create new value in fleet management field with the use of vehicle, logistics and customer big data.
