ITOCHU Employees Infected with Coronavirus (COVID-19)

July 30, 2020

Two employees of ITOCHU Corporation, who work at its Tokyo Headquarters (5-1, Kita-Aoyama 2-chome, Minato-ku, Tokyo), were today found to be infected with coronavirus (COVID-19).

These employees spent time together, including for a private meal on holiday last weekend. They reported symptoms including fever from July 28 to 29. Today, they took the PCR test and were found to be positive for COVID-19.

ITOCHU has already disinfected the working areas of these employees and shared areas. It has also ordered those who had contact with either of the employees to stay at home and is monitoring their health. The company will take the necessary measures based on instructions from the public health center.

At ITOCHU, half of its employees have been working from home. Reflecting the spread of infection across the country, the company will have all employees work from home starting tomorrow, in principle. ITOCHU will continue to prioritize controlling the spread of infection inside and outside the company and securing the safety of its employees.

ITOCHU appreciates the understanding and cooperation.
