ITOCHU Announces Development of Multi-tenant Logistics Facility in Mino City, Osaka

December 24, 2020

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Yoshihisa Suzuki, President & COO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it will develop "(provisional name) i Missions Park Mino" in Mino, Osaka, in collaboration with ITOCHU Property Development, Ltd. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & Chief Executive Officer: Norio Matsu) and Sanyo Electric Railway Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Nagata-ku, Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture; President & Chief Executive Officer: Kazuhiro Uekado).

This property is approximately 1.5 km from the Shin-Meishin Expressway's Mino-Todoromi IC. With the Shin-Meishin Expressway slated to fully open in FY2023, accessibility is expected to improve. Moreover, the increase in residential housing anticipated in the large housing development extending behind the property looks promising for employee retention.

Because of the tight logistics facility supply and demand situation in the Osaka inland area as well as the ongoing road improvements, including improvements connected to the Shin-Meishin Expressway, the locations of logistics facilities sites have been expanding and there is more than one logistics facility being developed in this area, the "North Osaka Metropolis Plan, Water and Green Health City's specific land readjustment project", where this property is located.

The "(provisional name) Minoshinmachi Logistics Facility" is also under development in this land readjustment project area and ITOCHU will develop this property as a second new multi-tenant logistics facility. Construction begins in December 2021 and is scheduled to be completed in February 2023, while the development project is pushed forward and tenants are being recruited.

Moving forward, the ITOCHU Group will seek to contribute to the development of logistics infrastructure and the creation of an affluent society by developing solid relationships with its customers and leveraging other strengths of the Group.
