ITOCHU Announces Changes in Plan to Rebuild and Relocate Head Office Building

January 20, 2021

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Yoshihisa Suzuki, President & COO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it will review its plan to rebuild the Tokyo Head Office Building (including the adjacent Itochu Garden), due to a change in the schedule of the Jingu Gaien District Category 1 Urban Redevelopment Project (temporary name; hereinafter the "Redevelopment Project"), in which the relocation of the current Tokyo Head Office to the Kamiyacho Trust Tower was originally scheduled for FY2021 and the rebuilding of the Tokyo Head Office Building was scheduled to be completed in FY2026.

The changes to the relocation and rebuilding plan is unrelated to the COVID-19 pandemic or the postponement of Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The rebuilding plan of the Tokyo Head Office Building will start swiftly after obtaining the permits and approvals for the Redevelopment Project. The new schedule for the rebuilding and the relocation destination during rebuilding have not yet been decided at this time.
As a member of the Redevelopment Project, ITOCHU will continue discussions with administrative agencies and other involved parties to advance this project.
