February 20, 2025
ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Keita Ishii, President & COO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that a capital and business alliance has been established with Thomas Gallaway Corporation dba Technologent (headquartered in California; Tammy Cooper, CEO; hereinafter “Technologent”), which provides IT services in the USA, through ITOCHU International Inc. (headquartered in New York; Naohiko Yoshikawa, CEO).*1
The North American IT service market is estimated to be about 1.3 trillion U.S. dollars (about six times the Japanese market), making it the largest in the world. Moreover, that market is home to many customers actively seeking to adopt the latest technologies, with the average growth rate expected to be around 8% going forward.*2
Technologent is an IT service provider that deals in a wide range of products and services from major North American IT vendors. They provide major American companies in finance, healthcare, and a number of other sectors with best-of-breed IT solutions that range from consulting, system and application development, and managed service. By leveraging advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), cloud services, data management, and cybersecurity, it has become an industry leader as it expands its business scope.
Following the privatization of ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (hereinafter “CTC”) in 2023, which possesses extensive expertise in the development and operation of systems and applications, ITOCHU has prioritized expanding CTC’s business foundation in the North American IT service market, driving initiatives to enhance collaboration with leading U.S. players. Moreover, CTC plays a leading role in the ITOCHU's digital business group, providing essential functions for the use of IT and digital technology. Through this group, ITOCHU has been providing optimal services tailored to customers' needs.
By incorporating advanced case studies and technologies gained in the key North American market, this alliance will allow ITOCHU to launch a number of digital service businesses across North America through Technologent's business foundation while accelerating the strengthening of its competitiveness and profitability in Japan and Asia. Meanwhile, ITOCHU will collaborate with CTC to support sustainable growth for the company's customers in the digital age.
