ITOCHU Announces Conclusion of MOU on AI-based Multilingual Dubbing Service
October 15, 2025
ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Keita Ishii, President & COO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) announced today that it has concluded a memorandum of understanding with ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Tatsushi Shingu, President & CEO; hereinafter “CTC”) and Titan Intelligence Inc. (headquartered in Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; Ikumi Akatsuka, President & CEO; hereinafter “Titan”) regarding an AI-based multilingual dubbing service, Titan is a provider of mimidub AI which enables the multilingual dubbing of Japanese video content.
As Japanese anime, movies and tourist resources are acclaimed around the world, the demand for voice translation and video localization is growing, and the global language services market is projected to increase from an estimated 81.6 billion dollars in 2025 to 110.9 billion dollars by 2030.*1 To effectively convey the appeal of Japanese content across language barriers, dubbing that accurately reproduces subtle nuances and expressed emotions is necessary, in addition to subtitling. However, in the conventional dubbing process, right holders often lack sufficient budgets for dubbing, except for highly profitable content, due to the high cost of translation and recording. As a consequence, Japanese content is frequently translated without authorization or is illegally distributed overseas.
Established in Japan, Titan is a startup specializing in AI-based voice conversion technologies. “mimidub“is an AI-based multilingual dubbing service developed and provided by Titan, which enables Japanese contents to be converted into various languages while faithfully preserving the unique voice quality and emotional expressions of Japanese speakers, generating natural voices so that the person on the screen appears to be speaking a foreign language. Titan provides services at competitive prices by building an efficient operational structure using this dubbing technology.
Recently, ITOCHU and CTC concluded a memorandum of understanding with Titan to discuss the developing the sales and operational structure for providing mimidub to customers, leveraging CTC’s track record as a leading system integrator. Furthermore, ITOCHU will utilize its global network and experience in sharing content IP to actively support the multinational expansion of content IP created by Japanese content providers.
ITOCHU has set its management policy with this theme: The Brand-New Deal – Profit opportunities are shifting downstream –. Through this initiative, ITOCHU will share Japanese content globally, overcoming language barriers and, guided by the “creator first” principle, strive to develop a sustainable environment for creative activities and ecosystems by building a system where the value created by Japanese content creators is properly recognized in the global market as it should be and Japanese content creators are fairly rewarded.
