Minato City’s Aoyama Elementary School visited ITOCHU for Out-of-classroom Learning

On Friday, June 20, twenty-two third graders from Minato City’s Aoyama Elementary School took part in an out-of-classroom learning experience at our Tokyo Head Office. From the top floor, the students viewed their Minato City home from all directions and heard an explanation of the company by an ITOCHU employee. The students listened intently to the explanation of ITOCHU's history and business and asked many questions.
They also learned about the work of the staff who support ITOCHU in areas such as reception, security, the Palace Hotel, and cleaning, and observed them at work.

In early June, new works were put on display in the Gifted Art exhibition space on the first floor of the Tokyo Head Office. This time we are exhibiting many works by the non-profit organization "JINENJO Club". The Jinnenjo Club is located at the southern foot of Mt. Tsukuba in Ibaraki Prefecture, and while living together with mentally handicapped people and engaging in environmental movements centering on organic farming, they also operate the Tai Museum, where they express their sensibilities born from their lives through taiko drumming, dance, painting, theater, and figurative arts. We hope that visitors will enjoy these wonderful, high-quality works.

Participated in WFP Walk the World for Africa 2025

On Sunday, May 11, WFP Walk the World was held in Yokohama Minatomirai. The event is a charity walk in which part of the participation fee is donated to the World Food Programme (WFP) school lunch program. As the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9) will be held in Yokohama in August this year, the donation will be used to support school meals in Africa. ITOCHU Corporation employees and their families, including CAO Kobayashi who serves as a board member of Japan Association for the WFP, and Food Company President Miyamoto who serves as an adviser, participated in the walk. We all walked famous places in Yokohama, taking part in a quiz rally to learn about the WFP's school lunch support. In addition to Yokohama, the charity walk was held in Osaka and Nagoya, with a total of 325 participants from ITOCHU Corporation.

Building a Sustainable Future: Doha Liaison Office Efforts to Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle

Qatar is focused on building a zero-waste society by expanding recycling, promoting sustainable habits, and adopting innovative waste management technologies. Last year, our office collected and recycled 500 water bottles, reducing the usage to 300, and we have continued this year. We also encourage staff and their families to reduce plastic waste, use glass jars or mugs instead of plastic bottles, and promote eco-friendly practices at work and home.
