The components of the world-famous Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for fiscal 2016 were announced and ITOCHU was included in both the DJSI World and Asia Pacific index. DJSI is a family of global socially responsible investment (SRI) indices.

The DJSI revises the indices every September by an independent survey of economic, environmental and social practices. In fiscal 2016, 316 companies (317 last year) including 26 Japanese companies (20 last year) were included in DJSI World among 3,420 (3,470 last year) targeted companies around the world.

ITOCHU achieved the best score in “Trading Companies & Distributors” Industry (one of the 60 Industries), and became as an Industry Leader for the second consecutive year.

Looking ahead, ITOCHU will continue to push ahead with initiatives, gaining trust from our stakeholders, in order to achieve a sustainable society.
