ITOCHU Announces New Exhibition at ITOCHU AOYAMA ART SQUARE “LOVE IT!” silsil Exhibition

February 23, 2017

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Masahiro Okafuji, President & CEO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) opened ITOCHU AOYAMA ART SQUARE in CI Plaza, a commercial facility situated next to ITOCHU’s Tokyo Headquarters, in October 2012, aspiring to encourage the next generation, contribute to the community and promote art and culture in Japan and abroad as part of its social contribution activities. A number of exhibitions have since been held in the space.

ITOCHU will hold a personal exhibition of silsil, who emerged victorious at the ART BATTLES TOKYO 2016 (held in October 2016), an art performance event held as a memorial to the 4th anniversary of the opening of ITOCHU AOYAMA ART SQUARE to discover the next generation of artists. For silsil, this will be a memorable personal exhibition that marks her debut in the Kanto area.
A word that went straight to her heart when she gave a performance in various cities such as Taipei, Shanghai and New York, as well as in Japan is “LOVE IT!”, a word that came flying out of the audience.
The exhibition will showcase the artwork she produced by imagining the future when girls around the world enjoy their life more freely, calling out “LOVE IT!” We encourage everyone to visit and experience the “LOVE IT!” world view portrayed by silsil, an artist who draws a fantastic world of females.
