The components of the world-famous Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for fiscal 2017 were announced and ITOCHU was included in both the DJSI World and Asia Pacific index. DJSI is a family of global ESG indices.

The DJSI revises the indices every September by an independent survey of economic, environmental and social practices. In fiscal 2017, 320 companies (316 last year) including 31 Japanese companies (26 last year) were included in DJSI World among 3,484 (3,420 last year) targeted companies around the world.

ITOCHU achieved the best score in “Trading Companies & Distributors” Industry (one of the 60 Industries), and became as an Industry Leader for the second consecutive year.

Looking ahead, ITOCHU will continue to push ahead with initiatives, gaining trust from our stakeholders, in order to achieve a sustainable society.
