ITOCHU was awarded as the Gold Class of the S&P Global Sustainability Awards 2022

ITOCHU was awarded the SAM Gold Class for the seventh consecutive year in the S&P Global Sustainability Awards 2022.
This year, more than 7,500 of the world's largest companies were assessed, and only four companies in Japan, including ITOCHU as the only trading company, received Gold Class awards.
S&P Global evaluates corporate sustainability based on ESG criteria and assigns Gold, Silver and Bronze ratings to companies that have a particularly strong track record. This award was presented in recognition of our "Talent Attraction & Retention," "Occupational Health and Safety," "Environmental Policy & Management Systems," and "Operational Eco-Efficiency" as well as its outstanding initiatives in the various fields of ESG "Reporting". We believe that our company's sustainability initiatives, as well as appropriate information disclosure in the ESG Report, have been evaluated.


S&P (Standard and Poor’s) Global Inc. is the US-based company which offers financial information services regarding ratings, benchmarks, and analytics in the global capital and commodity markets. The company is known for one of the top two ratings providers together with Moody’s.
