ITOCHU has won a Bronze Award in the Environmentally Sustainable Company Category at the Ministry of Environment’s 3rd ESG Finance Awards. Among the winning companies in this category, all highly rated as advanced ESG companies, ITOCHU was the only trading company to win this award.

By screening and selecting companies proactively engaged in environmentally sustainable management, the purpose of these awards is to share the details of the efforts made by the winning companies with even more stakeholders.

We received this award in recognition of the great progress we have made in efforts required of us as an environmentally sustainable company and appropriate information disclosures. For example, we have announced a complete withdrawal from our thermal coal interests, started to disclose information on the greenhouse gas emissions of the fossil fuel business and interests we own, and implemented scenario analysis and disclosed information on climate change based on the TCFD recommendations.
