ITOCHU Selected for CDP’s Highest “A List” in Both “Climate Change” and “Water Security” Sectors

ITOCHU Corporation (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Keita Ishii, President & COO; hereinafter “ITOCHU”) was selected for the first time for the highest rating, the "A List" in both the "Climate Change" and "Water Security" sectors by CDP*, an international non-profit organization that evaluates environmental disclosure. This selection recognizes ITOCHU’s leadership in transparency of environmental disclosure and performance.
In 2025, nearly 20,000 companies were scored, out of more than 22,100 reporting through CDP’s platform. Being selected for the "A List" is evidence of ITOCHU’s comprehensive and proactive initiatives and disclosures regarding climate change and water, and highlights our advanced level of environmental governance on a global scale.
ITOCHU, guided by its corporate mission of Sampo-yoshi (good for the buyer, good for the seller, and good for society) and its management policy “The Brand-new Deal –Profit opportunities are shifting downstream-”, actively enhancing our contribution to and engagement with the SDGs. Specifically, ITOCHU aims to achieve net-zero GHG emissions by 2050 in the area of climate change, and to reduce water withdrawal from water stressed regions by 1% annually in the area of water, striving to reduce environmental impact. Going forward, ITOCHU will continue to proactively address global environmental issues as one of its top management priorities and ensure appropriate information disclosure.
