FOODATA – a service supporting the DX of the planning and development of food products


ITOCHU launched a service supporting DX in the area of the planning and development of food products under its FOODATA brand in a business partnership with a business partner that excels in data analysis and software development.
FOODATA is a data analysis tool that analyzes food-related data such as flavor and nutrition as well as human data on ID-POS, awareness, review and other elements of consumers' behaviors and preferences, visualizing its analysis results using a dashboard.
This service provides an environment for efficiently examining ideas by addressing major issues in the product planning and development process, specifically (1) supporting intuition and experience, (2) shortening the data analysis process and (3) reducing the cost of data acquisition. With these features, it helps food manufacturers and retailers improve their product planning and development capabilities.
Starting with FOODATA, ITOCHU will offer a broad range of solutions including solutions for the expansion of product sales, the procurement of raw materials and system development. We will strengthen our roles as a partner expanding clients’ businesses together with them while also pursuing the expansion of the service into non-food-related sectors.
