ITOCHU CERATECH Corp. has leveraged its ceramics manufacturing technologies cultivated in refractory materials and artificial ceramic sand (CERABEADS®) to develop a proprietary, patented high-performance ceramic carrier for catalysts.
Using this carrier, it produces and sells catalysts under the AERONITE® trademark that generate e-methane and synthetic fuels (carbon-neutral fuels) from carbon dioxide and hydrogen.

Leveraging in-house carrier development (rare among catalyst manufacturers) as a unique advantage, ITOCHU CERATECH Corp. is able to provide customized catalysts for specific applications based on customer requests. This includes deoxidizing catalysts that remove trace oxygen impurities during hydrogen production and steam reforming catalysts that selectively generate hydrogen from hydrocarbon gas mixtures. Because of this capability, ITOCHU CERATECH Corp. expands its catalyst sales not only in Japan but also in overseas customers, as essential catalysts for carbon-neutral fuel production.
